Every single day after school or after work or after a long day, we all just want to lay down and rest on our beds. Some people including myself love getting sleep but during times where we have lots of work to get done, we can't really get enough sleep. It is important to get sleep because getting enough sleep will help us get through the day without feeling tired or drained. I usually have problems sleeping at times, I don't know why but there are days where I straight up cannot fall asleep. I feel like this could be because I take a lot of naps during the day.
I found an article that explains how sleep works and tips for getting good sleep. I mostly just want to get good sleep so I read the tips on how to get better sleep. The first tip is to set up a schedule for the bedtime and the time I need to wake up. I feel like this could work, I mostly sleep at crazy times like 2am and get up at 8am. I sure six hours is enough for some people but it doesn't really work for me, I still feel very tired after six hours of sleep. I mostly sleep late because I just want to have a little fun and enjoy myself after my homework. The second tip is to exercise at least 30 minutes every other day of the week. I don't exercise all too often, I mostly just walk a lot because their is a lot of walking involved in my job. It would be good to start exercising so that I could get better sleep and have a better working brain. The third tip is to avoid caffeine and nicotine late at night. I never really drink anything besides water at night and I never take nicotine because I know that is bad for the lungs. The fourth tip is to create room for sleep by avoiding lights and sounds. I always sleep in pitch black darkness but the noise is sometimes unavoidable. I have a problem with crickets in my room and they are very loud. Sometimes I would get out of bed just to find the cricket. The last useful tip is to do something else when having sleeping problems such as reading a book or listening to relaxing music. I think listening to relaxing music could actually be a good way of falling asleep, it would maybe stop my brain from overflowing with thoughts. I usually use white noise to help me fall asleep but sometimes the white noise just gives me a headache. I'm sure most people listen to calm music to fall asleep and I will have to start doing that if I there is another day where I can't fall asleep.
It is important to get a good sleep to do better mentally during the day. Some of us have bad habits that keep us awake and we need to try our best to stop those bad habits from messing with our sleep. The article explaining about the sleeping tips is pretty useful, I'm looking forward to listening to calming music to help me sleep tonight. I hope that I am able to find a way to better plan out my day so I could get time for my hobbies before bedtime and not have to sacrifice my sleep.
